The patient portal

The patient portal is a secure, online platform created specifically for our Spiced Pear Health registered patients. It is the place to go for:
  • Registering with us
  • Booking appointments
  • Reviewing your care plan and our advice to you
  • Reading tailored information we have chosen specifically for you

Annual Review

We recommend that all patients should have an annual review of their treatment plan. If you wish for Spiced Pear Health to continue prescribing your medication, then we must ask that you have an annual review with us to ensure any treatment is optimized and risk is minimised.

Answering Your Questions

We will aim to answer all your questions during the initial and any subsequent consultations. We understand that in some cases, you may have questions after a consultation. We suggest you start with the frequently asked questions, and then review the information provided in the patient portal.

If you still have questions about your treatment, we will be happy to answer them via email, but we must limit these to 2 emails after each consultation to help manage our time. Subsequent email communications will be charged at £30 per email. We are also not an emergency service and there may be a delay in responding to your enquiry. We reserve the right to recommend a 30-minute review appointment via video if we cannot safely manage your enquiry via email.

Medication

Your private prescriptions are created by Clynxx, the UK’s official electronic private prescription system. For any queries relating to your electronic prescription, please contact Clynxx on 0330 113 7894.

If we decide together that medication is required, these can be picked up at a local pharmacy or delivered to your home. FreeRx tokens from Clynxx allow you to collect your prescriptions from a pharmacy of your choice. You will be required to pay for the medicines at your collection pharmacy if you choose to receive your prescription this way. You can also choose to get your medicines delivered directly to you via a partner pharmacy. If you choose to have your medicines delivered, an invoice will be sent to you electronically via SMS or email. Once the invoice has been paid, you will receive confirmation instantly and the pharmacy will process and deliver the medicines to you.
Item Fee
Private prescription fee £35 per prescription, if generated between consultations. (This does not include the fees charged by the pharmacy for your medicines)
Cost of medication This depends on the medication, but typically range from £10-£40/month per medication. The pharmacy may include a fee for dispensing the medication. The pharmacy fee will be within the total price issued to you by Clynxx for payment.
Self Collection cost There is no charge for picking up the medication from a local pharmacy. Clynxx will send your prescription via text an electronic token to take to your pharmacy who will dispense the medication.
Delivery cost £8 for next day via a GPhC regulated Clynxx partner pharmacy.

Blood tests

After the initial consultation, we will know whether blood tests or other diagnostic procedures are required. We will recommend one of the following blood tests based on the initial consultation, which can be carried out by your GP and will be listed in your Care Plan. Alternatively, the blood tests can be arranged privately with Clynxx. They will arrange a kit for you to take your own blood sample, or a healthcare professional can do it for you by either visiting a partner clinic or via a nurse home visit. We will make the arrangement for you depending on your requirement.

Please note, there is an additional charge if you use a partner clinic or home nurse service:
  • If you choose to acquire your own blood sample with a home finger prick test, there is no additional charge
  • If you choose a local partner clinic blood sample collection, there is an additional charge of £30
  • If you choose for a nurse to acquire a blood sample at your home, there is an additional charge of £55

In general, these are not necessary in the majority of cases. If they are required, we will recommend some of our trusted specialists and advisers. They will inform you of their fee, which must be settled directly with the specialists.

We will advise you on private providers local to you who will be able to arrange these for you.

A note on our language

Throughout this website, we use the term women when describing people who experience hormonal symptoms. However, we acknowledge not only those who identify as women require access to menopause and hormone health information. For example, some trans men, non-binary people, intersex people or people with variations in sex characteristics may also experience menopausal symptoms and PMS/PME or PMDD, and we warmly welcome everyone who needs this support in our clinic.
