Menopause In The Workplace

The menopause affects everyone. People of all ages and genders work and live alongside those who are experiencing symptoms, whether they know it or not.

An unsupportive workplace leads to sickness days and a decline in well-being and productivity. It can also make everyone miserable.

We work with companies to educate and support teams to ensure a happy, healthy working environment for everyone.

Clinical Expertise

We have direct clinical experience in helping women with the symptoms and health issues associated with the menopause.

Staff and Manager Support

We are able to provide up to date information to your staff on how best to navigate through the menopause, from large to small group settings.

Expert Follow-Up

As we are registered doctors, we are able to offer one-to-one medical advice to those employees who require additional support through our online clinic.

The innocent fairness in gender affinity group booked Angela and Angela to do an open Q&A on the subject of women’s health. Both doctors were incredibly knowledgeable and open, answering questions around contraception, menopause, fertility and the impact of covid on women’s health. The group left feeling really inspired, taking action to book appointments with their own GPs. We can’t wait to welcome them both back.

With a wide spectrum of employees all feeling they left the sessions with new, validated knowledge, giving them confidence for the future. With younger women feeling they were now armed with sound information and knowledge moving forward. With male managers feeling they had more knowledge to be empathic when required. Spiced Pear Health has helped shape our business thinking and action to improve our Menopause support internally. Moy Park would highly recommend Spice Pear Health for any business or personal appointment. How they turn a complex medical event, into simple understandable and accessible support is a marvel! Spiced Pear delivered a specialist talk on the menopause to our team of womens health physiotherapists. It was the most comprehensive, informed and thorough talk I've been to. Dr Angela Sharma and Dr Angela Wright are pioneers in their field, empowering women to take control of their symptoms and improve their lives. They took a holistic and evidence-based approach to menopause; it was truly enlightening for the whole team. Their ability to take a complex subject matter and break it down into easily understandable concepts is phenomenal. I cannot recommend Spiced Pear highly enough. This talk is a MUST for all perimenopausal and menopausal women.

Dr Sharma & Dr Wright provided us with an incredible, in depth, nuanced and brilliant presentation on menopause. They approached what can sometimes be a difficult and awkward subject with openness, knowledge, and candor which provided an atmosphere of learning, interest, and engagement among attendees. Their knowledge on the subject was thorough and clearly presented and has created a strong foundation for further learnings about menopause internally. Leading up to the event, they were very timely and prompt in our interactions and were always flexible in terms of scheduling a time to chat if further conversations were required. Would absolutely turn to them again if we needed additional menopause programming or information sessions.

Menopause: Managing the change (employees)

For smaller groups of employees (6-12), 90 mins online

In this session, we build on the “Menopause In a Box” workshop and give your staff the practical toolkit of the skills and information they need to manage their menopause properly. Comprising a 60-minute session delivering an evidence-based intervention: “CBT for Menopause”, and then a 30-minute group consultation session which provides access to an expert to ask any questions they may have.
CBT for Menopause (60mins)
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy provides menopausal women with a toolkit to help them manage the most troublesome symptoms of menopause. This can be used to support HRT or as an alternative to medication. This evidence-based intervention provides tools that tackle hot flushes, anxiety, insomnia and stress management.
Group consultation with an expert Menopause Doctor (30 mins)
  • This is a chance for your staff to consult with one of our expert menopause doctors. This is a group education and consultation, which will equip your team with a better understanding of what options are open to them, leaving them equipped to navigate the system to get the help they need to manage their health and improve their confidence at work.
  • After the group consultation, women are able to book an individual consultation with one of our expert menopause doctors, giving them a comprehensive, individualised care plan. We can support them in working with their GP to prescribe the right HRT or provide this through our private pharmacy.
  • These consultations can be self-funded, or provided on a pre-paid basis if booked in bulk by the company.

Dr Angela Wright and Dr Angela Sharma came along to one of the charity's webinars on the menopause. Many people with Endometriosis and/or Adenomyosis often have a lot to deal with in terms of hormone treatments, or surgical treatments, with many coping with menopause through surgical or chemical routes. Often GP's are unsure of how best to treat these people due to the nature of the conditions.

But these two Dr's were fantastic. They presented a very informative webinar and proved that they knew exactly what they were talking about, not only from the menopause front but they were educated about Endo, Adeno and PCOS as well. If you can work with these wonderful people then do it you will not be disappointed.

Dr. Wright and Dr. Sharma are an exceptional duo who recently hosted an incredibly informative session on the topic of menopause. Their knowledge, expertise, and ability to communicate complex medical information in an approachable manner were truly outstanding. They created a safe and supportive environment where we could openly discuss a topic that many women find challenging. Everyone who attended left the session feeling empowered and well-informed, thanks to their dedication and passion for women’s health. I highly recommend Dr. Wright and Dr. Sharma for anyone seeking guidance on this important life stage.

A note on our language

Throughout this website, we use the term women when describing people who experience hormonal symptoms. However, we acknowledge not only those who identify as women require access to menopause and hormone health information. For example, some trans men, non-binary people, intersex people or people with variations in sex characteristics may also experience menopausal symptoms and PMS/PME or PMDD, and we warmly welcome everyone who needs this support in our clinic.
